[REDACTED] b6 Per BOC [REDACTED] b7C Per BOC
I have known [REDACTED] since we were in high school together, to the present time. [REDACTED] and I have also been close friends over the intervening years which stretch from about 1949 to the present. My contact has b b6 Per BOC limited with [REDACTED] because he has spent the time since he left high sch b7C Per BOC, before he graduated, up until November of 1970 in the military service as a Marine. In the intervening years since he left high school, my only contact with him has been when he has been on leave and able to come home. Since his retirement from the military service, I have seen him on several social occasions. I have met his wife, [REDACTED] which is a nickname we gave her. I do not know her real first name. They have one small daughter.
---
[REDACTED] has been trying in the last two or three months to find employment b7C Per BOC He likes this area but because of the economic conditions of our area, he has not been able to find a job and I know that he has told me he has applied for many jobs around the local area. The only job that has opened up for him is one offered to him by the Treasury Department. He spends a lot of his free time fishing but he has a lot of interests and seems to be well rounded and able to converse with people on many subjects. In a social group, he relates very well and is able to put his point across effectively without antagonizing people. He certainly is low key in his approach to subjects with tact and discretion.
---
I have never seen him under pressure or stress but he gives the impression of being quite capable of handling an emergency if it would arise. I trust his judgement and think that he is a logical person who develops facts objectively. He seems to be more of a practical nature than of an idealistic one. I also think that he knows what regulations are and because of his long service in the Marine Corps is able to interpret and correctly apply these instructions correctly. I am sure that whatever was required of [REDACTED] he would be able to do. His whole family is a f b6 Per BOC family and they have taught the children to be responsible people. [REDACTED] b7C Per BOC is very stable in his emotional makeup and is in excellent physical health. From my knowledge of [REDACTED] although it has been sporadic in contact over the past twenty years, I consider him definitely a loyal citizen and someone I would recommend highly for any position of trust or responsibility for which he had applied and was accepted.
---
[REDACTED] and I were high school classmates. I have known him since 1949 or 1950 to the present time. However, because he has spent his past b6 Per BOC b7C Per BOC

twenty years in the military service, my contact with him has been very limited. We both attended [REDACTED] family lives he b6 Per BOC in town and has during that period of time. When [REDACTED] retired from the b7C Per BOC military in approximately November of 1970, he came back to [REDACTED] and has been living with his family since that time. I have met his wife, [REDACTED] and they have one child. He was divorced several years ago from his first wife but I do not know the reason why. However, it is my opinion that there was nothing of an unfavorable nature regarding [REDACTED] conduct in this matter and that they were just not compatible.
---
[REDACTED] although he has tried to get some work to help support himself and b6 Per BOC his family, has not been successful because of the present economic b7C Per BOC conditions of our area as well as the lack of jobs at this time.
---
My husband and I have seen him on two or three social occasions since he has retired and of course, he seems more mature than he did when he was in high school. He is entertaining in telling about his past military experiences and he seems to have progressed to more responsible positions throughout his military career. However, because I have never seen him in a group of strangers, I do not know how he would relate to people he does not know. He is easygoing and never seems to let things bother him. I am sure that he is under some pressure to get a job and help support his family but it does not appear to make him upset to the point of being emotionally unstable. I have never seen him under emergency conditions but he seems to have the general characteristics of being able to handle any situation that arose. I do not have any specific examples to comment regarding his qualifications to occupy a sensitive position in a critical area because my contact with him has not been very extensive in the last twenty years. I do not feel qualified to comment on his capabilities for a real critical position that requires handling emergency situations.
---
I feel that he is a loyal American citizen because he spent twenty years in our military service. He has never-spoken or espoused any controversial or radical causes to my knowledge. Generally, as to his personal character and conduct to my knowledge of it, I would recommend him for any position he applied for including one within our Federal employment structure.
---
I have known [REDACTED] and his family for about twenty to twenty-five years. I took his high school pictures and first probably had contact at that time with [REDACTED] He has been in the Marine Corps for the last twenty years and my contact with him has been very sporadic and intermittent. His family comes in occasionally to buy film and other photographic supplies b6 Per BOC and I think he has been in my shop once or twice since his retirement b7C Per BOC November of 1970.

The family has an excellent reputation in our area. [REDACTED] seems to fitb6 Per BOC right in with his family. I have heard nothing unfavorable regardingb7C Per BOC his moral conduct, drinking habits, personal standards, or attitudes at any time. As far as being a stable, emotionally mature young man, I think that he is. However, because my contact has been limited, I just do not know how he would be able to diagnose and respond to an emergency or critical situation. He appears to be the type who could do this but I just have no way to base an opinion on this. Therefore, I do not feel that I am qualified to comment specifically on his abilities which are needed for a sensitive and critical position with the Government. I have no reason to question his loyalty or patriotism as he is a member of a well recognized religious organization. Because of his extended service in the military, I have no reason to question his loyalty or patriotism to our country. From the general standpoint of his character, I would recommend him for a position of trust and responsibility within our Federal Government.

b6 Per BOC b7C Per BOC I have known [REDACTED] for approximately twenty years. We attended [REDACTED] together and I was one year ahead of him in high school. As I recall, he left high school before graduation. During the time he was here during his high school career his personal character and conduct were fine. He seemed to be honest with good integrity. Of course, heb6 Per BOC seems to be more mature. I have met his wife but I do not recall herb7C Per BOC name. They have one child. This was when they first returned to this area in November of 1970 and I have had no social contact with the family since that time. I have seen [REDACTED] a few times when he comes into the drug store but have had no chance to converse on a lengthy basis with him.
Generally, he appears to be trustworthy and responsible and able to handle whatever would arise. However, because I have had no close association with him for the past twenty years, during the period of his military service, I do not feel qualified to comment on his ability to progress in a job, or his characteristics pertinent to any position for which he applies. This would be on a specific nature. I do feel that he is a loyal American citizen or he would not have given so many years of his life to military service. He has never expressed a radical or unfavorable view- point about our Government to my knowledge.
Generally, I would recommend him from the standpoint of character and reputation for a position of a very sensitive nature handling informa- tion involving the Federal Government.
